
Located on the tourist coast of the municipality of Teguise, in Costa Teguise. This beach with 650 m. long and sheltered by breakwaters, it has fine, toasted sand and calm waters.
The beach of Las Cucharas has all kinds of facilities, it is framed by an extensive promenade with a wide range of hotels, apartments, bars and restaurants. It is a very crowded area at any time, as it offers an atmosphere that is as lively as it changes throughout the day.
Unlike the beaches in the south of Lanzarote, Playa de las Cucharas, during some times of the year, has strong waves. The northern part of the beach usually has calmer waves and, if you plan to take the little ones, it is the most recommended.
In Las Cucharas the sports offer is varied, there are numerous bicycle rental shops and it has several diving and windsurfing schools.
There is a great deal of activity in relation to this sport, since Las Cucharas beach is one of the best areas on the islands to practice it. In summer, a beach-break type wave forms, with a northwesterly wind of strength between 4 and 6 beaufore, ideal for all modalities. That is why in the month of June for many years a test of the PWA World Windsurfing Championship was held.
