The Gulf is running. in the southwest of the island of Lanzarote. It is an old fishermen's settlement, nowadays it has become an important tourist place due to being next to the famous Charco de los Clicos, a lagoon of an intense green color that contrasts with the deep blue of the sea a few meters away.
The best plan here. It consists of going to eat at one of its restaurants with sea views, specialized in local fish and shellfish, as well like delicious rice. It is also almost obligatory to try, of course, some wrinkled potatoes with green mojo and mojo picón.
Indispensable is a walk through the town itself, excellently preserved, going through the different restaurants in the area and finally visiting the Lago de los Clicos of an intense green color, about 100 meters walk from the town itself.
We suggest you visit El Golfo and Charco de los Clicos after the after-dinner conversation, and coincide with its absolutely magical sunset.
A few kilometers away we find another natural spectacle: "Los Hervideros", formed by capriciously shaped cliffs created by volcanic lava, always accompanied by a rough sea that crashes against the curious caves of the place.
The popular festivals of El Golfo are celebrated the last week of October. Those days of celebration are called «La Shearwater» and it has popular races, festivals and other competitions and games for children and adults.
