Ria de La Santa

Located in the Isleta de La Santa, municipality of Tinajo, on the outskirts of the fishing village of same name, is a natural lagoon that borders a small peninsula. It has about 910 m. in length, its sand is white and fine and its waters are still and calm

Although it is not in a good state of conservation, it is surrounded by some circular and semicircular stone constructions, which give a curious view of the area.

It is well connected and can be accessed by guagua (bus).

What to do

Its still and calm waters and the excellent prevailing wind in the area make it very suitable for beginners in a wide variety of sailing water sports such as windsurfing.

History

The estuary was an arm of the sea that crossed the island of Lanzarote and a small islet located in the northeastern area of Lanzarote. 

With the construction of the Hotel La Santa Sport, this small islet was linked to the island of Lanzarote by means of bridges, so these seawater inlet and outlet channels  They were closed, thus forming a small lagoon that today is enjoyed by lovers of swimming, windsurfing and nautical sports in calm waters.
