This spot, one one of the best European spots for waveriding, is located in the north of the island, specifically, in Playa de los Jameos, just below one of the most spectacular and therefore most visited places of the island, the Jameos del Agua.
This is a spectacular area, of great beauty and that is even protected. Of course, it is an area suitable only for experts. In Jameos del Agua you will find one of the best left-hand waves on the island: fast and long, with hollow sections and up to three meters high.
It is considered the best spot on the island. It is considered a reference for surfing the waves, and not always to jump. The northeast wind does not usually blow very strong in this area, so the sail 5m is normally the most used. It is a very long wave and if you connect all the sections you can be surfing for almost a minute.
Although it is an area with a very regular wind throughout the year, between April and September the conditions for windsurfing they improve.
Entering the water is somewhat complicated, especially at high tide, since the bottom is made of volcanic rock. Access to the water is through a sand corridor in the middle of the volcanic lava, which is exposed at low tide, but remains underwater at high tide.
This spot is often shared with surfers.
